EL PASO, Texas – UTEP Volleyball Head Coach Ben Wallis announced the addition of Savannah Jamieson (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) to the Miners' 2026 signing class.
A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jamieson attended Cole Harbour High School and competed for Fall River Fury and Sackville Sonics volleyball clubs.
Jamieson has represented Canada on multiple occasions, earning a spot on the U17 Canada Youth National Team in 2024. She was also selected twice to Volleyball Canada's prestigious National Excellence Program (NEP) in 2024 and 2025 and was named to the U19 Canada National Team Training Roster in 2025.
"We're extremely excited to welcome Savannah to El Paso and officially add her to our program," Wallis said. "She's a top-level athlete, and as a left-handed opposite with her size and physicality, she has the potential to become a dominant point scorer and blocker during her career as a UTEP Miner. It's not every day that you're able to recruit a long, physical athlete like Savannah, so we're thrilled to bring her down from Nova Scotia and begin working with her. Adding her to what is already shaping up to be a very talented recruiting class is incredibly exciting for our staff. Beyond her athletic ability, Savannah is exactly the type of student-athlete we want in our program. She's a high-character, hard-working and intelligent young woman who fits the culture we've built here at UTEP. We believe she has a very bright future, and we're excited to see her continue developing both on and off the court in the Sun City."
At the provincial level, Jamieson has been a fixture within Team Nova Scotia programs since 2023. She represented Team Nova Scotia from 2023-26, competed with Team Nova Scotia at the 2025 Canada Games and earned selection to Team Nova Scotia Beach in 2026. She was also a member of the Nova Scotia Targeted Athlete Program (TAP) from 2023-26.
Her accomplishments on the court have been recognized with several honors, including a Canada Cup All-Star Award in 2025. She also earned Nova Scotia Provincial All-Star recognition in both 2025 and 2026 and was named the 2026 MVP of Sackville Sonics Volleyball Club.
Jamieson is scheduled to enroll at UTEP in January 2027 and will join the Miners for the spring semester.
