SEASON STATISTICS
FRISCO, Texas - The UTEP Women's Golf team moved up one spot to finish ninth at the CUSA Women's Golf Championship at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas (Par 72, 6,386 yards). The Miners posted a 51-over par 915 (314-304-297) across three rounds, closing with their strongest round of the tournament on Wednesday.
Junior
Luciana Origel led the Miners, tying for 21st at 9-over par 225 (77-74-74). She recorded three birdies over 54 holes and posted her second top UTEP finish of the season, marking the eighth time in her career she led the Miner lineup. Origel is one of three players to compete in every tournament this season and has appeared in 28 career collegiate events.
Freshman
Amelia Fridlund made a strong push up the leaderboard, climbing seven spots to finish tied for 37th at 16-over par 232 (82-77-73). She carded four birdies over three rounds. Fridlund capped her debut season with a standout victory at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate (2/11/26), earning her first collegiate title, and was named CUSA Golfer of the Week on (2/18/26).
Blanca Yrizar finished tied for 39th at 17-over par 233 (80-76-77), moving up one position in the final round. She totaled five birdies over 54 holes. Yrizar competed in all 10 tournaments in her first collegiate season, recorded five top UTEP finishes, two top-10 finishes, and earned CUSA Co-Golfer of the Week honors (4/1/26).
Taline Kyoumjian competed in rounds two and three, posting a 77 and 73 while carding four birdies over her 36 holes.
Atikan Cherdchoo played rounds one and three, shooting 79 and 77 with five birdies. Cherdchoo completed her freshman campaign having competed in all 10 tournaments, highlighted by one top UTEP finish and one top-10 result in a season marked by consistent contributions.
Nichapas Thawinwan competed in rounds one and two, shooting 78 and 80. She concluded her sophomore season with one top UTEP finish and one top-10 finish, sharing runner-up honors at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate.
Western Kentucky took home the conference title, finishing with a 13-over par 877. Delaware placed second at 20-over par 884, while NM State and Sam Houston shared third at 23-over par 887.
Reagan Ramage (WKU) won the individual title with a 3-under par 213, Emma Bunch (NM State) finished second at 2-under par 214, and Rylee Salome (NM State) and Romane Poissonnier (FIU) shared third at 2-over par 218.
UTEP placed in the top 10 six times this season and recorded three top-five finishes. The highlight of the year was capturing the team title at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate, where the Miners shot 863 (+11) to earn their first team championship since 2019.
