UTEP Athletics Launches Legacy Brick Program

Personalized Bricks Available for Purchase Around Iconic Statue of “The Bear”

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP alumni, fans and supporters now have an opportunity to purchase a personalized brick, for permanent display around the statue of "The Bear," legendary UTEP basketball coach Don Haskins! The Miners launched their Legacy Brick Program on Tuesday.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to leave your mark at UTEP and show your Miner Pride," UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said. "Not only will your name and message be permanently displayed in front of the Don Haskins Center, but you'll also be supporting scholarships for student-athletes."

Two sizes of bricks are available for a limited time only. A 4x8 brick is $195 and an 8x8 brick is $350. Each purchase includes one brick to be installed and another complimentary keepsake brick to own. Display cases and additional keepsake pieces are also available for purchase.

Proceeds support UTEP student-athlete scholarships and count towards membership in the Miner Athletic Club.
