PRIOR TO UTEP: Hit .441 with five long balls, 18 RBI, 17 runs, seven doubles and a triple in 26 contests started at Montwood High School during senior campaign…registered 11 multi-hit games…made 20 appearances in the circle, fashioning a 4-0 record with a 3.71 ERA in 90.2 innings…efforts helped lead the Rams (16-9-1, 8-3-1 district) to the UIL 2016 Girls Softball State Championship playoffs…went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a home run during an 8-7 victory against Eastwood High School (3/24)…in another victory against Eastwood (4/15), earned the win in the circle, hurling 7.0 innings with six Ks and hit a home run on a 3-for-5, three-RBI performance ... club team was the American Freedom coached by Mark Mattox.

PERSONAL: Full name is Ruby Aydee Sanchez … daughter of Rafael and Aidee Sanchez … has one sister, Crystal … mechanical engineering major ... born in El Paso.
