The UTEP women's golf team picked up a 13th-place finish at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Wednesday in Hawaii.
The Miners shot 300 in round one, 305 in round two and 307 in round three for a total of 912. Texas A&M won the 15-team tournament, which featured six ranked teams, by shooting a five-under-par 859 (283-289-287).
Oklahoma State was second (297-288-289-874) and Washington State was third (290-286-299-875).
UTEP was led by Lily Downs, who finished with a seven-over-par 223 (77-73-73) and tied for 32nd place. Alisa Rodriguez tied for 43rd place (75-73-78-226), Abbie Anghelescu tied for 67th place (73-81-79-233), June Ting tied for 70th place (75-82-77-234) and Sofia Castiello tied for 72nd place (78-78-79-235).
The Miners will return to the mainland and participate in the Little Rock/Arkansas State Invitational March 27-28 in Little Rock, Ark.
