Cherdchoo Tied For Sixth; Miners in Eighth Place After Two Rounds at The Lady Clerico

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – UTEP's Atikan Cherdchoo is tied for sixth place following two even-par rounds on Monday, while the Miners are in eighth as a team after 36 holes at The Lady Clerico at Hillcrest Country Club.
 
Cherdchoo led the Orange and Blue with a 72 in the morning session and matched it with another 72 in the afternoon for a two-round total of 144, even par with five birdies. She enters Tuesday's final round within striking distance of the top of the leaderboard.
 
Blanca Yrizar is tied for 18th after posting back-to-back rounds of 74 with a total of 148, four over par and 4 birdies.
 
Other UTEP scores through 36 holes include Luciana Origel, 76-77—153 (+9), tied for 36th, Paige Wood, 76-79—155 (+11), tied for 43rd and Nichapas Thawinwan, 79-77—156 (+12), tied for 46th.
 
The Miners combined for a 298 (+10) in the opening round and a 300 (+12) in the afternoon for a two-round total of 598 (+22). The effort placed them eighth in the team standings.
 
The Lady Clerico concludes Tuesday with the final round in a shotgun format beginning at 7:30 a.m. MT/8:30 a.m. CT.
