HATTIESBURG, Miss. –
UTEP took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Ariel Blair crossed the dish after a Southern Miss error, but the Golden Eagles (14-20, 4-5 Conference USA) scored four unanswered runs to get by the Miners (11-21, 1-8 C-USA), 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at USM Softball Complex.

The UTEP offense managed to get three hits, including one by Taylor Sargent in the seventh inning with one out to put a pair of runners on. Kaitlin Ryder had reached on an error prior. But the Golden Eagles' defense turned a double play to end the contest.
