EL PASO, Texas – France native and tennis standout Paloma Hennicaux has signed a national letter of intent to attend school and compete with the UTEP tennis team beginning in the 2022-23 season, head coach
Ivan Fernandez announced Tuesday. Hennicaux will have four years of eligibility
A quote from Fernandez and a brief profile follows below.
Paloma Hennicaux
Cuincy, France
Freshman
Boasts a -2/6 rating in France, a system in which anything 0/6 or below is really good … has been playing tennis for 12 years … competed in European tennis and also some ITF events, picking up some wins … expected to compete near or at the top of the Miners' line-up.
"We are so excited to welcome Paloma to the UTEP Tennis Family for the fall of 2022. She is a very experienced player from France with a -2/6 Ranking. In the past, all of my French recruits with that great a ranking have played in the top of the lineup for me. We believe that Paloma will be able to do that here as well. Paloma is not only a great player, but a great person as well. I have had many conversations with her and she exemplifies everything that we want in our student-athletes. She will be a great addition to our team."
