EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP tennis team (1-5) will be back on the courts when it plays at Hardin-Simmons (1-2) at 1 p.m. MT/2 p.m. CT Sunday and at Abilene Christian (4-6) at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT Monday. It is the first action in three weeks for the Miners, who had matches at Boise State and against Idaho State canceled the weekend of Feb. 11.
"We are ready and excited to get back out on the court after a few weeks since our trip to Boise State was canceled," UTEP head coach
Ivan Fernandez said. "We have practiced hard to prepare for these two matches that will give us a fresh start for the rest of this spring."
Senior
Kathleen Percegona has played at the top of the lineup for the Orange and Blue during the dual season, securing a victory. Freshman
Carlotta Mencaglia, who joined the squad in January, has won back-to-back matches and boasts a team-high three wins in dual action.
Sophomore
Veronika Lebisova sports a squad-best overall record of 10-7, including 2-2 in dual action.
Thassane Abrahim,
Elena Dibattista and
Laura Schmitz also have tasted victory during the spring season.
