Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky – The UTEP softball team (10-17, 1-5 Conference USA) fell to Western Kentucky (21-4, 5-1 C-USA) 9-0 in five innings to close out the conference series Sunday afternoon at the WKU Softball Complex.
WKU jumped to a 9-0 lead after four innings. The Hilltoppers posted two runs in the first on an RBI standing double by Brylee Hage and tacked on another run off a UTEP error. WKU then followed with five runs on six hits in the third to extend the lead 7-0. A two-run home run by Taylor Sanders in the fourth put the Hilltoppers up 9-0.
WKU held the Miners to no runs to end the game in a 9-0 run-rule final.

UTEP will be back in action as it hosts Louisiana Tech (17-12, 2-3 C-USA) in a three-game series at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex that runs March 25-27.
