EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP softball team (12-20, 2-7 Conference USA) will travel to Denton, TX to take on North Texas (18-7, 7-2 C-USA) in a three-game series that runs April 1-3. 

The matchup will be streamed on the ESPN+, with live stats also available. 

North Texas Series

Aalijah Alarcon (7-10) leads the squad with 89.2 innings in 23 appearances and 17 starts, throwing seven-complete-game victories and earning three saves.

• Lexi Morales paces the squad with a .344 batting average on 31 hits. She's slugged .511 with a .459 on-base percentage and 18 walks.
• Kaylin Jackson and Morales set the pace with three home runs each – Jackson leads with 19 RBI and Morales with 14.
• Morales leads with 46 total bases.
• The Miners are 15-for-17 in stolen bases. Savannah Favre is 6-for-6 and Autumn Scott is 2-for-2.

North Texas

• North Texas sits at 18-7 (7-2 C-USA) on the season. The Mean Green are led by Lexi Cobb with a .414 batting average on 24 hits. She is slugging .638 with a .500 on-base percentage.

 

• North Texas has utilized four pitchers through its 25 games, with Ashley Peters pitching a team-high 78.2 innings with 19 appearances and 12 starts. Peters has a 2.31 ERA with 73 strikeouts and seven walks, 74 hits and 29 runs allowed (26 earned) and is 10-3. As a staff, North Texas carries a 2.92 ERA, allowing 158 hits, 75 runs (68 earned), striking out 155 and walking 32. North Texas has given up eight home runs, 34 doubles and four triples.

 

• The Mean Green lead 18-7 in the all-time series against the Miners. North Texas has won the last seven contests. Recently, North Texas completed the four-game series sweep of the Miners April 18, 2021.
