EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP softball team is back at Helen of Troy Field Friday through Sunday, May 6-8, as the UAB Blazers come to town for a three-game series. It is Senior Weekend for UTEP as senior Sky Estrada will be honored after Saturday's game.
The Miners enter the series with an overall record of 15-31 and 5-16 in Conference USA. The Blazers come in at 22-23 overall and 10-10 in league action.

Cespedes has a 3.98 ERA with 76 strikeouts and 38 walks, 105 hits and 53 runs allowed (47 earned) and is 9-7. As a staff, UAB carries a 4.61 ERA, allowing 330 hits, 200 runs (158 earned), striking out 218 and walking 105. UAB has given up 31 home runs, 61 doubles and 22 triples.

The Blazers lead the all-time series against the Miners, 31-12. Last season, UTEP salvaged the final game of its four-game series versus UAB with a come-from-behind victory, 7-4, in game two of Sunday afternoon's double-header at Mary Bowers Field. The Miners fell to the Blazers in game one by a score of 5-3.
