WOMEN'S JAVELIN RESULTS

EUGENE, Ore. – UTEP track and field's Arianne Morais concluded her first season with a successful effort after competing in the women's javelin final at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on Thursday evening at historic Hayward Field in Track Town, USA.

Morais finished in 22nd place after tallying a 50.26-meter (164-11) mark on her first throw. It was her second-best attempt of the season as she had battled injuries during the campaign.

"I'm proud of Arianne, making it all the way to the NCAA's without a single javelin throwing practice this year," UTEP Head Coach Mika Laaksonen said. "When she gets healthy, watch out."

Morais, a sophomore transfer from the University of Florida, punched her ticket to Track Town, USA, for the first time in her collegiate career after a top-10 finish at the West Prelims in Arkansas on May 26. She hurled a personal best at UTEP with a 51.04-meter (167-5) mark on her third and final attempt. Her collegiate best was a 55.13-meter (180-10) mark at the 2021 Tom Jones Memorial while at Florida.
