Miners Enter GCU Invitational Primed to Make Statement

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP women's golf looks for another strong result when the Miners take the course Monday and Tuesday at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix.
 
On Monday, the Miners will play 36 holes at the GCU Championship Golf Course, a par 72 that will play 6,171 yards and 6,100 yards depending on the round. Tournament action concludes on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
 
UTEP begins opening round action at 8 a.m. MT.

To this point in the season, the Miners have performed well consistently with five top-five team results over six tournaments.
 
Last time out at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein, UTEP took fourth as a team behind the top-10 finishes of Daniela Chipchase and Sophie Delfosse, who each tied for 10th.
 
As a result of their efforts, the Miners have climbed up to 107th in the national rankings, sitting only behind Delaware (104th) in the GCU Invitational field.
 
Other participants in the 17-team event include GCU, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Marshall, Montana State, Northern Arizona, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Seattle U, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, UC Riverside, Louisiana Monroe, Utah Valley and North Dakota.
 
Chipchase, Delfosse, Andrea Ostos, Nawel Ben Letaief and Marta Romeu Chen will compete for the Miners.
