UTEP T&F Opens Outdoor Season at the Willie Williams Classic March 24 & 25

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP track and field team is set to open the 2023 outdoor season when the Miners will compete at the Willie Williams Classic at Roy P. Drachman Stadium hosted by the University of Arizona on March 24 and 25.

The meet will start on Friday with the collegiate events beginning at 2 p.m. MT. Saturday's events will start at 11 a.m. MT.

Making the trip on the men's side are Jakub Belik (high jump), Daniel Bernal (1500m, 5000m), Jalen Cadet (400m, 110m H, javelin), Stephen Carreto (400m H,4x400m), Titus Cheruiyot (5000m), Karon Dean (100m, 200m 4x100m), Ronaldo Griffiths (400m, 400m H), Kevin Hewitt (400m), Joshua Hill (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m), Dennis Johnson (100m, 200m, 4x100m), Victor Kibiego (3000m steeplechase), Maxwell Kipkosgei (800m), Yusuf Mohamud (800m, 1500m), Elijah Munoz (400m, 110m H, javelin), Juan Olmos (1500m), Julio Pacheco (400m, 4x400), Mathew Polk (100m, 200m), Abdulraof Rashid (100m, 200m, 4x100m, 4x400m), Emilio Rios Jr. (high jump), Michael Sims (800m, 1500m), Kenneth Talavera (800m, 1500m), Zacarias Velasquez (long jump), Aman Verma (200m), and Jordani Woodley (110m H, 4x100m, 4x400m).

Competing for the women are Loubna Benhadja (400m H, 4x400m), Oghenekaro Brume (200m, 4x100m, 4x400m), Niesha Burgher (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m), Lizbeth Fierro (shot put, hammer throw), Carshaylah Harrison (400m H, 4x400m, high jump), Asia Hodge (100m, 200m), Ruth Jerubet (5000m), Joan Kimaiyo (5000m), Denae McFarlane (100m, 200m, 4x100), Zani Meaders (400m, 4x100m, 4x400m), Arianne Morais (javelin), Natalie J. Murillo (discus, hammer throw), Victoria Ovalles (5000m), and Marissa Simpson (100m H), Karen Villa Medina (200m, 100m H, javelin), Paris Watson (discus), Roosa Yloenen (javelin).
