UTEP T&F to Compete at a Trio of Meets This Weekend

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP track and field team will compete in three meets starting on Thursday, April 13 at the Mt. SAC Relays (April 13-15) hosted by Mt. SAC (San Antonio College) in Walnut, Calif., Bryan Clay Classic (April 13-15) hosted by Azusa Pacific, and the Beach Invitational (April 15) hosted by Long Beach State.

Making the trip on the men's side are Jakub Belik (high jump at Bryan Clay), Daniel Bernal (10,000m at Mt. SAC), Jalen Cadet (decathlon at Bryan Clay), Titus Cheruiyot (10,000m at Mt. SAC), Karon Dean (100m, 4x1 at Mt. SAC), Joshua Hill (400m at Bryan Clay), Dennis Johnson (100m, 4x1 at Mt. SAC), Victor Kibiego (3000m steeple, 5000m at Bryan Clay), Maxwell Kipkosgei (800m, 1500m at Bryan Clay), Yusuf Mohamud (800m, 1500m at Bryan Clay), Julio Pacheco Estrada (400m at Beach Invite), Abdulraof Rashid (4x1 at Mt. SAC, 200m at Beach Invite), Kenneth Talavera (800m, 1500m at Bryan Clay) and Jordani Woodley (110m H, 4x1 at Mt. SAC).

Competing for the women are Loubna Benhadja (400m H at Mt. SAC), Niesha Burgher (100m, 200m at Mt. SAC), Carshaylah Harrison (400m H at Beach Invite), Ruth Jerubet (5000m at Bryan Clay), Denae McFarlane (100m at Mt. SAC), Zani Meaders (400m at Bryan Clay), Arianne Morais (javelin at Mt. SAC), Marissa Simpson (100m H, 200m at Beach Invite), and Roosa Yloenen (javelin at Mt. SAC).

Competition will start on Thursday with three student-athletes – Cadet in the decathlon, and Bernal and Cheruiyot running in the 10,000-meter event at the Mt. SAC Relays.

The weekend will conclude on Saturday.
