Miners Finish Eighth at C-USA Women’s Golf Championship

FINAL RESULTS

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. –
UTEP women's golf wrapped up the final day of the Conference USA Championship in eighth place on Saturday.
 
The tournament was held at the PGA National Resort (par 72, 6,102 yards), which at times played to soggy conditions in addition to multiple weather delays.
 
As a team, UTEP shot a 947 (330, 309, 308).
 
Individually, Andrea Ostos was the top performer for the Miners, climbing five spots on the final day to tie for 19th with a 232 (80, 76, 76).
 
Marta Romeu Chen tied for 27th with a 236 (78, 77, 81), Sophie Delfosse tied for 33rd with a 241 (86, 83, 72) tally and Daniela Chipchase rounded out the counting scores by tying for 35th with a 242 (86, 77, 79).
 
Ella Hammond-Baveystock competed as well for UTEP, with her tournament highlighted by posting a season-best 79 in the second round on Friday. Hammond-Baveystock finished 41st with a 250 (89, 79, 82).
 
For the third straight season, North Texas claimed the team title with a three-shot victory over second-place WKU. The No. 35 ranked Mean Green registered an 878 (283, 295, 300) as a team.
 
Catie Craig of WKU took home top individual honors with a 1-under par 215 (69, 75, 71).
 
UTEP concludes the season with nine top-10 finishes and seven top-five results.
