UTEP Softball Welcomes Louisiana Tech

EL PASO – The UTEP Softball team (11-25, 2-13 Conference USA) will host Louisiana Tech (26-18, 8-7 C-USA) for a three-game series, April 21-23, at Helen of Troy Field.

Tickets can be purchased through the Eisenberg Family Ticket Office by calling (915) 747-UTEP, emailing tickets@utep.edu, visiting www.UTEPMiners.com/Tickets or in person at 201 Glory Road (Brumbelow Building, UTEP Campus), Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Leading Off for the Miners      

  • UTEP leads Conference USA in doubles per game (1.47).   

  • UTEP batted .275 through 36 games (which included a Top 5 opponent) paced by four players - three who have 100-plus plate appearances - who were batting at or above the mark (Favre, Morales, Mendez, Dooner). Leading the way is junior Savannah Favre who is hitting .352 on 45 hits with five (5) doubles, three (3) triples and 27 RBI. She's slugged .578 with a .371 on-base percentage.         

  • Favre is one of three (3) Miners to have 20-plus RBIs already in the season, with Caitlyn Brockway (26) and Rylan Dooner (23) following Favre's team-leading 27 RBI. 

  • Against Florida Atlantic, Favre went 4-for-10 in the batter's box with two (2) triples for a team-high eight (8) RBI. 

  • Ten (10) players have posted at least one home run for the Miners with Ajia Richard accounting for seven (7).     

  • Four (4) arms combined in the circle against Florida Atlantic. Aalijah Alarcon combined for 7.1 innings with a team-best 1.91 ERA.    

  • UTEP has had 23 of 25 players see action during a game at some point this season.

Louisiana Tech  

  • LA Tech sits at 26-18 on the season        

  • Kylie Neel leads the Lady Techsters' run production with 35 RBI and 61 total bases while batting .328. She has reached base in the past 15 games and has a nine-game hitting streak and leads the Techsters with nine multi-hit and nine multi-RBI games this season. 

  • Sierra Sacco leads Tech at the plate with 44 hits, 32 runs scored, 28 walks, and a .328 batting average. The sophomore is the all-time program leader in career batting average with a mark of .394. Sacco has 29 stolen bases this season, leading Conference USA and ranking 10th nationally. Sacco has started 103 consecutive games in centerfield for Tech. 

  • Pitching has been the strength of the Lady Techsters, as they hold a team ERA of 2.04 in 302 innings pitched. Tech ranks 18th nationally and second in Conference USA in team ERA. 

  • Emma Hutchinson leads Tech in ERA with a 1.64 mark in 55.1 innings pitched. Left-handed hitters are batting just .174 against Hutchinson this season. Mary Martinez leads the Techsters in the circle with a 9-3 record while posting a 1.99 ERA in 56.1 innings pitched. Allie Floyd leads the staff in innings pitched with 99.2. 

  • LA Tech leads the all-time series 20-15.
