EL PASO – The UTEP Softball team (11-28, 2-16 Conference USA) hits the road this weekend as they face off against UAB (25-21, 12-6 C-USA) for a three-game series, April 28-30, at Mary Bowers Field in Birmingham, Ala.

Leading Off for the Miners

UTEP leads Conference USA in doubles per game (1.54).    
	 
	- 
	
UTEP batted .275 through 39 games (which included a Top 5 opponent) paced by five (5) players – four who have 100-plus plate appearances - who were batting at or above the mark (Favre, Morales, Mendez, Dooner, Angulo). Leading the way is junior Savannah Favre who is hitting .355 on 49 hits with six (6) doubles, three (3) triples and 30 RBI. She's slugged .594 with a .373 on-base percentage.

Favre is one of four (4) Miners to have 20-plus RBIs already in the season, with Caitlyn Brockway (28), Rylan Dooner (23), and Ajia Richard (20) following Favre's team-leading 30 RBI.

Against Louisiana Tech, Peyton Angulo went 4-for-9 in the batter's box with two (2) doubles for six (6) RBI.  
	 
	- 
	
Ten (10) players have posted at least one home run for the Miners with Ajia Richard accounting for eight (8).

Five (5) arms combined in the circle against Louisiana Tech. Zaylie Calderon combined for 10.0 innings and eight (8) strikeouts with a team-best 5.60 ERA.

UTEP has had 23 of 25 players see action during a game at some point this season.

The Blazers are on a four-game win streak, defeating Samford and Sweeping UTSA last week to hold the No. 3 spot in C-USA Standings.

UAB has clinched their spot in the C-USA Softball Tournament, which will be hosted in Ruston, Louisiana.

The Blazers tallied a total of 26 hits in their sweep over UTSA. Of the 26 hits, four were homers and eight were doubles.

The Green and Gold tallied a game high of double plays with four at UTEP. The stat leads the conference.
