EL PASO – The UTEP softball team is back at Helen of Troy Field, May 5-7, as the FIU Panthers come to town for a three-game series. It is Senior Weekend for UTEP as six seniors will be honored after Saturday and Sunday's games.

UTEP batted .273 through 42 games (which included a Top 5 opponent) paced by three (3) players – two who have 100-plus plate appearances - who were batting at or above the mark (Favre, Morales, Mendez). Leading the way is junior Savannah Favre who is hitting .378 on 56 hits with seven (7) doubles, three (3) triples and 35 RBI. She's slugged .649 with a .395 on-base percentage.

Favre is one of four (4) Miners to have 20-plus RBIs in the season, with Caitlyn Brockway (28), Rylan Dooner (23), and Ajia Richard (21) following Favre's team-leading 35 RBI.

Against UAB, Favre went 7-for-10 in the batter's box with a double and two (2) home runs for 5 RBI.

Ten (10) players have posted at least one home run for the Miners with Favre accounting for nine (9).

Three (3) arms combined in the circle against UAB. Zaylie Calderon combined for 7.0 innings with a team-best 4.00 ERA.

FIU has utilized four (4) pitchers through 47 games, with Megan Kruger leading the charge with a team-high 71.0 innings in 22 appearances and 13 starts. Kruger (6-6) has a 2.37 ERA with 33 strikeouts and 33 walks, 53 hits and 28 runs allowed (24 earned). As a staff, the Panthers carry a 3.87 ERA and have given up 52 doubles, 10 triples and 32 home runs.
