EL PASO – No. 19 UTEP Rifle made history in Saturday's match, setting a program record with a season-high aggregate score of 4,672. The Miners also posted their highest air rifle score of the season, shooting a 2,366, to set a new school benchmark. UTEP's performance was led by standout performances from Kameron Wells, Carlee Valenta, and Isabella Rios, who each fired career-best scores. 

Despite UTEP's record-breaking effort, No. 4 TCU claimed the top spot in the match, finishing with a 4,717 team aggregate. 

Wells spearheaded the Miner squad with an aggregate of 1,171, ranking fourth overall in the match and fifth in smallbore. Valenta and Rios each recorded an 1,169 aggregate, with Valenta earning 75 counters compared to Rios' 71. Amy Visconti contributed a solid aggregate of 1,163, followed by Xan Keel with a score of 1,158, and Holly Visconti with an aggregate of 1,139.

Valenta shone in air rifle, finishing second overall, while Rios and Wells also ranked high, taking fourth and fifth place respectively. All three — Wells, Valenta, and Rios — achieved personal bests in both air rifle and aggregate scores. Notably, Rios scored a perfect 200 in prone, Wells recorded two perfect rounds in air rifle, and Rios and Valenta each posted one perfect round in the second event.

The Miners will look to carry this momentum as they travel to Columbus, Ohio, for a tri-match with Ohio State and Murray State, scheduled for November 2-3.
