UTEP Men’s Golf in Second Place at The Clerico Monday, Play Suspended Due to Darkness

TULSA, Okla. – The UTEP men's golf team jumped six spots to second place after shooting 1-over par 281 at ORU's The Clerico at Oaks CC (par 70 | 6,950) on Monday. The Miners completed their play but the tournament was suspended due to darkness. Four of the 13 teams will conclude round two on Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. MT/7:30 CT. 
 
Following the completion of the second round, Tuesday's final 18 holes will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT/8 MT. Live results will be on Scoreboard.
 
The Miners (290-281) played all 36 holes at 11-over par and seven strokes behind leader and host Oral Roberts (283-281, +4). Northwestern (284-289, +13) is two strokes behind UTEP in third place. Little Rock, Duke, Santa Clara and UTSA didn't finish all 36. Kansas City (300-300) is in last at 40-over par. 
 
Max Schliesing (72-70—142) finished 2-over par and is tied for eighth place overall and six strokes behind leader ORU's Preston Richardson (65-71—136) at 4-under. Schliesing climbed up the leaderboard 14 spots after shooting par in the second round. The redshirt senior shot 3-under on the front nine in round two but 3-over on the back. Schliesing, however, pared the last four holes (15-18) to maintain even par. 
 
Dylan Teeter (71-72—143) went up four spots and is tied for 12th after shooting 2-over in the second round. 
 
Patrick Foley (77-68—145), who got off to a rough start, made the biggest jump and darted 44 spots up at tied for 18th after firing a 2-under par 68 in round two. Foley pared eight of the nine holes on the back nine after shooting 3-under on the front nine. 
 
Alexandre Godin (75-71—146) started slowly in the first round but rebounded to shoot 1-over in the second and move up 22 spots, tied for 24th
 
Branden Smith (72-75—147) struggled in the second round and is tied for 32nd
 
Northwestern's Cameron Adam (67-70—137) is one stroke behind leader Richardson. ORU's Gustav Liljeberg (73-65—138) is third who climbed 25 spots after a 65 in round two.
