UTEP’s Teeter Tied for Seventh, Leads All Individuals After 36 Holes at the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Marana Regional Tuesday

ROUND 2 RESULTS

MARANA, Ariz. – UTEP's No. 137 Dylan Teeter chipped in an eagle at 17 and carded a 5-under-par 67 in the second round at the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals at The Gallery Golf Club (par 72 | 7,317 yards) on Tuesday.
 
Teeter tees off the final round on Wednesday at 10:23 a.m. MDT and is looking to be the first Miner to advance to the championship round since 2018 (Charles Corner). 
 
Second-seeded Teeter (70-67) has fired 7-under par 137 after birdying holes two, six, 11, 14, and 16 while recording an eagle at 17 (par 4, 336 yards) to move up eight spots and heads into Wednesday's final round tied for seventh overall of over 80 competitors and leads all individual players. 
 
Teeter leads over individual players NM State's Javier Delgadillo (75-69—144) and Nebraska's No. 101 Rudy Sautron (69-75—144) by seven strokes. Both are tied for 31st. Loyola Marymount's No. 144 Trevor Algya (76-71—147) is tied for 48th
 
Teeter is tied for fourth on par-five holes (4.3 avg.) at 6-under, and is tied for sixth with 11 birdies. Teeter is one of 15 players to record at least one eagle. 
 
Oklahoma State's No. 73 Eric Lee (69-63—132) and Alabama's No. 8 Williams Jennings (67-65—132) lead on the individual leaderboard. 
 
Teeter is set to tee off round three on hole one at 10:23 a.m. MDT/9:23 PT. He'll play with North Dakota State's Rylin Petry (75-70—145, t-34th) and Iona's Connor Henderson (75-73—148, t-51st).

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted to determine the 30 qualifying teams and six individuals (not on those qualifying teams) who will compete in the finals. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals (not on those teams) will compete at each of three regionals, while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals (not on those teams). The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the finals.
 
All 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. Following 54 holes of competition, the top 15 teams, along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team, will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match-play competition and the 72-hole stroke-play individual champion. The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into a bracket thereafter.
