EL PASO - The UTEP softball team (10-2) will hit the road for their first away games of the season in a midweek doubleheader against Arizona State on Feb. 21 in Tempe, Ariz.

- UTEP leads Conference USA in doubles (26), fielding percentage (0.974), shutouts (3) and walks (39). The Miners' doubles count ranks second in the NCAA.
- UTEP batted .320 through 12 games paced by five players who are batting at or above the mark, three of which have 30-plus plate appearances (Ajia Richard, Lexi Morales, and Halle Hogan). Morales leads the way with a slash line of .417/.533/.750 on 15 hits with seven doubles, a triple, and home run, and nine RBI. Morales is ranked second in the nation in doubles.
- Six players posted at least one homerun. UTEP blasted 10 home runs with Halle Hogan accounting for three.
- The UTEP pitching staff holds a 2.63 ERA. Faith Aragon and Taja Felder lead CUSA and are tied with three other pitchers in the nation with five victories under their belts. Aragon also leads the conference in innings pitched (33.0), shutouts (2), and strikeouts (32).
- Zaylie Calderon ranks second nationally with three saves.

Arizona State
- Arizona State brings a 5-4 record into the week after completing a 3-2 week at the Littlewood Classic. They have three run-rule victories and one shutout through the first two weekends.
- ASU is batting .313 and scoring 6.22 runs per game this season. Behind their Pac-12-leading 22 doubles, the Sun Devils have a .940 OPS. They have added eight home runs and two triples.
- Sun Devil pitchers have a 4.33 ERA and 1.60 WHIP entering the week. They are allowing the opposition to hit .286 with a .829 OPS. ASU is third in the Pac-12 with 54 strikeouts and 6.87 per seven innings.
- ASU leads the all-time series 7-3
