EL PASO - The UTEP softball (10-4) hits the road for one last tournament showdown at the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic in Lubbock, Texas, scheduled from Mar. 1-3. The Miners are geared up to take on host Texas Tech, Texas State, and Merrimack.

Leading Off     

• UTEP leads Conference USA in doubles (30), fielding percentage (0.974), shutouts (3), and slugging percentage (0.511). The Miners' doubles count ranks 11th in the NCAA.    

• UTEP batted .317 through 14 games paced by five players who are batting at or above the mark, three of which have 40-plus plate appearances (Ajia Richard, Lexi Morales, and Halle Hogan). Richard leads the way with a slash line of .404/.440/.702 on 19 hits that include six doubles, a triple, and two home runs. Morales leads the conference in doubles (seven) and doubles per game (0.50). 

• Six players, including Halle Hogan who accounted for three, contributed to UTEP's total of 11 home runs. 

• The UTEP pitching staff holds a 2.63 ERA. Faith Aragon and Taja Felder lead CUSA with five victories and a shutout under their belts. Aragon also leads the conference in strikeouts (36).  

• Zaylie Calderon ranks eighth nationally with three saves.

The Opponents    

Texas Tech 

• TTU brings a 13-3 record and is riding a six-game win streak heading into the weekend. The Red Raiders are hitting .276 and have a total ERA of 2.90. Tech leads the all-time series, 16-5. 

Merrimack 

• Merrimack enters the weekend 2-7. This will be the first ever matchup between the Warriors and Miners. As a team, the Warriors are hitting .247 and have a total ERA of 5.38. 

Texas State 

• Texas State returns to the road with a 14-5 record so far on the season with this being the team's second road trip of the year. The Bobcats are hitting .289 and have a staff ERA of 1.90.
