Box Score ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Ajia Richard's seventh-inning homer broke a no-hit bid and denied the Lobos a shutout opportunity. Despite the Miners' late-game efforts, UNM emerged victorious with a 6-1 win at Lobo Softball Field Tuesday afternoon.
UTEP (16-7) faced a tough challenge as UNM scored four runs in the third inning, powered by an RBI single and consecutive home runs. Adding to the lead, UNM tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning. Despite being hitless for most of the game, UTEP's Ajia Richard broke the silence in the top of the seventh with a powerful home run to right field, preventing a shutout and no-hitter opportunity for UNM. Lynne Sepulveda added a single down the left field line, but it wasn't enough as the Lobos held off the Miners, securing a 6-1 victory.
