EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP tennis team (2-9) has a busy week ahead, with the Miners playing four times in a span of six days.

There are three true road matches in addition to a neutral site contest. The Miners will compete at Lamar (6-4) at 11 a.m. MT/12 p.m. CT Sunday before facing Valparaiso (7-5) in Huntsville, Texas, at 11 a.m. MT/12 p.m. CT Tuesday. UTEP will step back into CUSA play with a tilt at Sam Houston (3-5) at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT Wednesday before wrapping up the stretch with a contest at Stephen F. Austin (8-3) at 11 a.m. MT/12 p.m. CT Friday.

UTEP was 1-1 last weekend, including a 4-3 victory against in-state foe Abilene Christian on March 1. The Miners will now look to build on that momentum, beginning Sunday against the Cardinals.

"We have been playing better and better these last couple of matches," UTEP head coach Ivan Fernandez said. "We feel ready for these four matches in the next six days. This will be a really good test for us, but I feel like we are ready for the challenge."

Carlotta Mencaglia will look to set the tone for the Orange and Blue from the No. 1 spot in singles. She boasts a team-high four triumphs in dual play, with three of those coming at the top slot. Paloma Hennicaux is coming on strong with a trio of triumphs while Elena Dibattista, Veronika Lebisova and Hanna Telzynska each have a pair.

Mencaglia and Telzynska lead the way with doubles with a squad-best mark of 7-4 while Lebisova and Zuzanna Szczepanska have compiled three wins in doubles action.
