UTEP Women’s Golf Places 11th at Red Raider Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas – 
UTEP women's golf finished 11th out of 16 teams at the Red Raider Invitational Wednesday with a 904 (301-294-309) (+40).
 
Taline Kyoumjian (76-73-76—225)(+9) and Marta Romeu Chen (76-71-78—225)(+9) tied for 36th as the top finishers for the Miners.
 
Luciana Origel tied for 42nd with a 10-over par 226 (74-75-77) and Lea Dawson tied for 50th with a 13-over par 229 (75-75-79).
 
Finally, Nichapas Thawinwan placed 75th overall, posting a 21-over par 237 (79-80-78).
 
All five Miners dropped strokes in their second tournament of the season.
 
Kent State's Veronika Kedroňová finished atop the individual leaderboard with a 7-under par 209 (70-69-70). Texas Tech's Klara Hurtova (73-70-67—210) and BYU's Maria Jose Barragan (71-71-68—210) both shot 6-under par to tie for second.
 
Texas Tech took home the team title in its home tournament, finishing with a 8-under par 856 (289-282-285).
 
UTEP has a quick turnaround following the Red Raider Invitational, as the Miner head to the Pat Bradley Invitational in Miami, Fla. Sept.30-Oct. 1.
