No. 12 UTEP Rifle’s Kameron Wells Fires Perfect 600 in Air Rifle

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 12 UTEP Rifle delivered a historic performance Saturday at The Ohio State University, highlighted by sophomore Kameron Wells, who became the first Miner in program history to fire a perfect 600 in air rifle. The Miners finished third overall in a competitive quad match featuring three nationally ranked opponents.

No. 10 Murray State and No. 17 Akron tied atop the leaderboard with 4693 aggregates, with Murray State edging out Akron by centers (294–279). UTEP followed close behind with a 4691, while host No. 14 Ohio State rounded out the field at 4680.

The Miners led the match in air rifle with a 2381—the top team mark of the day—while Akron claimed the smallbore title with a 2338.

Wells' record-breaking performance headlined the afternoon as she posted a perfect 600-54x in air rifle and a 580 in smallbore, finishing with a career-best 1180 aggregate to place second overall among all competitors.

Akron's Natalia Siek was the top individual with a 1190 aggregate, followed by Wells (1180) and Murray State's Lea Soule (1179) to round out the top three. Siek also led all shooters in smallbore (594), while Wells' flawless 600 stood as the top mark in air rifle.

Behind Wells, Xan Keel shot an 1172 aggregate, followed by Kennedy Wells (1170), Carlee Valenta (1167), Julia Czernik (1160), and Paige Hildebrandt (1141).
