KINGSVILLE, Texas – The UTEP Beach Volleyball team (6-3, 2-0 Conference USA) split its matches at the Javelina Beach Showdown on Saturday, falling 4-1 to Colorado Mesa before bouncing back with a dominant 5-0 sweep over Wayland Baptist.
Dual 1: CMU 4, UTEP 1
In the morning dual, UTEP faced a strong Colorado Mesa squad, ultimately coming up short. The Miners' lone point came from the duo of Lauren Perry and Emma Schubert, who battled to a three-set victory.

"Today was a tough day. We had two players get injured and had to adjust. Unfortunately, we lost to CMU—they are always a strong opponent. But we were able to rebound and sweep WBU. We're all excited to get back home and play Boise State in front of our amazing fans."
