UTEP Beach Volleyball Heads to Boise State Beach Classic

EL PASO, Texas – UTEP beach volleyball hits the road this weekend, traveling to Boise, Idaho, for the Boise State Beach Classic, set for April 3-4 at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Complex. The Miners will face four opponents across two days, including a matchup against No. 25 Boise State.

UTEP opens the tournament on Friday against Santa Clara at 11 a.m. MDT before taking on CSUN at 3 p.m. MDT. The Miners return to action Saturday morning against Oregon at 8:30 a.m. MDT and will wrap up the weekend against No. 25 Boise State at 12:30 p.m. MDT on the MW Network. Last Time Out: Stampede Beach Opener

The Miners are coming off a competitive showing at the Stampede Beach Opener in Clearwater, Florida, where they split both days of competition. UTEP opened the event with a dominant 5-0 sweep of Sam Houston before falling 4-1 to host South Florida. The Orange and Blue closed the weekend with another split, dropping a 5-0 decision to RV UAB before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory over Stephen F. Austin.

UTEP saw strong performances throughout the lineup in Clearwater, highlighted by the consistent play of its top pairs. Paulina Acuna and Madison Hill paced the Miners with an undefeated opening day, while Krista Paegle and Averie Threet continued to build momentum as one of the team's most reliable duos.

CUSA Pair of the Week Honors

Krista Paegle and Averie Threet made program history this week, earning Conference USA Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week honors for the first time since the program's inception in 2023.

The duo was dominant at the Arizona Invitational, posting a perfect 4-0 record on Court 3 without dropping a single set. Their performance included a straight-set victory that secured UTEP's lone point against nationally ranked Arizona, along with two Conference USA wins.

Paegle and Threet enter the weekend on a four-match winning streak and hold a 6-2 record as a pair over the past two weeks.
