UTEP Men’s Golf Set to Compete at the 45th Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate March 17-18

EL PASO – UTEP men's golf will take the links at the 45th annual Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate at Tucson Country Club (par 72 | 7,533 yards) on Monday and Tuesday.
 
Monday's first 36 total holes (rounds 1 & 2) will tee off at 8:30 a.m. MST/9:30 MDT, while Tuesday's times for the final round (18 holes) will be announced.
 
Live results will be on Scoreboard.
 
Max Schliesing (71.4 stroke average), Dylan Teeter (71.4), Braden Smith (73.9), Alexandre Godin (73.9) and Patrick Foley (74.2) are taking the course for the Miners.
 
UTEP will compete against host no. 25 Arizona, Oregon State, no. 8 Utah, Cal, NM State, no. 22 Mississippi State, Wyoming, Wichita State, Long Beach State, Northern Illinois, Washington State and Hawai'i

UTEP men's golf was 12th place at Michigan's Desert Mountain Intercollegiate at Desert Mountain, Outlaw Course (par 72 | 7,107 yards) on March 8-9.
 
The Miners (296-304-289) shot 1-over par in round three, moving up a spot to 12th overall. No. 27 Mississippi State (275-292-286), which jumped out to a nine-stroke lead in round one (-13), won the tournament at 11-under par 853. No. 10 Utah (284-294-279—857) and Grand Canyon (289-290-280—859) rounded out the top three finishers. No. 48 Kansas (286-295-292—873) placed fifth. Host Michigan (295-298-285—878) moved up three spots after a 285 in round three, finishing seventh. Central Michigan (307-323-321—951) was last.
 
Patrick Foley (70-77-73—220) finished as the top Miner for the first time in his career. Foley finished tied for 28th and tallied 12 birdies on the weekend. 
 
Max Schliesing (73-76-72—221) moved up seven spots to tie for 31st. Schliesing recorded 10 birdies. He added an eagle on hole 16 (par 5 | 532 yards) during first-round action.
