UTEP Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth at the 35th Duck Invitational Tuesday

RESULTS 

EUGENE, Ore. – UTEP men's golf wrapped up play with an eighth-place finish, and no. 150 Max Schliesing tied for 10th on the final day at the 35th annual Duck Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon at Eugene Country Club (par 71 | 6,997 yards) on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Schliesing (69-69-72) shot 3-under par 210 for his fifth top-10 finish this season and ninth overall in his career at UTEP.  The redshirt senior penciled in 10 birdies overall and an eagle in round two. Schliesing opened round three with a birdie at hole 5 but followed with a bogey at 6. He eventually birdied holes 9 and 13 to get back to 2-under par for the round and 6-under overall but had three bogeys on his final nine holes to shoot 1-over in the round. 
 
Dylan Teeter (72-71-71—214) moved six spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for 21st. The senior recorded a trio of birdies in round three, totaling 10 for the tournament. 
 
Massimo De Giorgi (74-71-74—219) finished tied for 46th. The freshman totaled seven birdies and an eagle during the two-day event.
 
Patrick Foley (77-71-74—222) placed tied for 60th. Foley had a stretch in the third round where he penciled in five birdies on six holes (13-18) but bogeyed holes 1 and 2 and struggled with two double bogeys on 4 and 6 to close out the round. 
 
Alexandre Godin (72-76-83—231) finished tied for 83rd.
 
UTEP (287-282-291—860) posted its seventh top-10 finish this season. Host no. 36 Oregon (279-280-285—844) won the tournament. Wyoming (280-282-283—845) and no. 45 Colorado State (281-284-280—845) finished a stroke behind the winner. The Miners finished a stroke behind seventh-place no. 46 Grand Canyon (284-287-288—859). Idaho (297-301-300—898) finished last in 15th place. 
 
Colorado State's Christoph Bleier (64-71-68) moved up a spot to win the individual title at 10-under par 203.  Wyoming's Kristof Panke (67-68-70—205) finished two strokes behind the leader. Saint Mary's Aidan Lee (68-68-70—206) and Oregon's Ramil Saelim (71-65-70—206) tied for third. Wyoming's Jaren Calkins (66-66-75—207) was the leader after two rounds but dropped four spots to fifth after struggling in the third round at 4-over. 
 
UP NEXT
UTEP will close out the regular season at Mississippi State's Old Waverly Collegiate on April 14-15, at West Point, Miss., at Old Waverly Golf Course. The 2025 Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club will follow on April 21-24.
