UTEP Men’s Golf Returns to Action at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate March 8-9

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

EL PASO – UTEP men's golf, following a few weeks off from competition, will return to the links at Michigan's Desert Mountain Intercollegiate at Desert Mountain, Outlaw Course (par 72 | 7,107 yards) in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday's first and second rounds (36 total holes) will tee off at 7:30 a.m. MST, while Sunday's final round (18 holes) will begin at 7:30 a.m. MST/8:30 MDT (note* Arizona does not observe daylight savings time).

Live results will be on Scoreboard.

Max Schliesing (71.1 stroke average), Dylan Teeter (70.7), Braden Smith (73.5), Alexandre Godin (73.9) and Patrick Foley (74.4) are taking the links for the Miners.

UTEP will compete against host Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, James Madison, Kansas, Kentucky, Lamar, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Mississippi State, Oral Roberts, Pacific, Southern Illinois, Utah and VCU.

UTEP (299-292-282—873) finished 17^th at the 48^th John A. Burns Intercollegiate hosted by Hawai'i at the Ocean Course at Hokuala (par 70 | 7,098 yards) on February 13-15.

No. 16 Utah (273-272-273—818) and no. 41 UNLV (280-272-266—818) finished tied for first.

Max Schliesing (72-73-68—213) finished as the top Miner and tied for 39^th overall. Dylan Teeter (71-73-74—218), Braden Smith (81-73-71—225), Patrick Foley (81-77-69—227) and Alexandre Godin (75-73-82—230) rounded out the order of finish for UTEP. Massimo De Giorgi (76-75-78—229) competed as an individual in his first collegiate tournament.
