MONROE, La. – The UTEP tennis team took care of business in doubles and kept the momentum in singles en route to a 4-0 win at ULM Friday.
 
The Miners (8-7) claimed every match that was finished, with clinch format being used in the shutout victory against the Warhawks (3-13). The effort secured the eighth triumph this year to equal the highest victory total of the Ivan Fernandez era (8-11, 2022 dual season), in addition improving the Orange and Blue to 3-2 on the road. That is the most road wins in three years when the Miners also had three.
 
DeCora Antoine and Hanna Telzynska doubled up Mariam Hatem and Mariia Iordanova, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles. Valeria Carreño Torres and Carlotta Mencaglia followed suit by dispatching Raquel Alvaro and Tingyi Li, by the identical score at No. 2 doubles to lock up the doubles point. Candice Bernier and Wendy Zhang's match at No. 3 doubles vs. Cam Molina Barranco and Enna Krnjic went unfinished.
 
Zhang won by default at No. 6 singles after her foe had to withdraw due to injury. Carreño Torres drilled Krnjic, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. Paloma Hennicaux was dominant as well, smashing Iordanova, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 4 singles. The other three matches went unfinished as result of clinch format.
 
UTEP will now head to Ruston, La., to challenge Grambling State (2-9) in a neutral-site match at 9 a.m. MT/10 a.m. CT Saturday. The Miners then conclude the regular season at LA Tech (13-8, 3-0 CUSA) at 9 a.m. MT/10 a.m. CT Sunday.
