UTEP Men’s Golf Closes Out Regular Season at Mississippi State’s Old Waverly Collegiate Championship April 14-15

EL PASO – Following a three-week break from competition, UTEP men's golf will conclude regular-season play at Mississippi State's Old Waverly Collegiate Championship in West Point, Miss., at Old Waverly Golf Club (par 72 | 7,088 yards) starting Monday through Tuesday. 
 
Monday's first 36 total holes (rounds 1 & 2) will tee off with an 8 a.m. CT/7 MDT shotgun start. Tuesday's final round (18 holes) times will be 8-10:20 a.m. CT/7-9:20 a.m. MDT at hole one and 8:20-9:50 a.m. on hole 10. 
 
Live results will be on Scoreboard.
 
Max Schliesing (71.2 stroke average), Dylan Teeter (71.7), Alexandre Godin (74.4), Patrick Foley (74.7) and Massimo De Giorgi (74.7) are taking the course for the Miners.
 
UTEP will compete against host no. 32 Mississippi State, no. 15 Alabama, Cincinnati, Kansas State, Memphis, Missouri, Murray State, no. 3 Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy and ULM.   
 
This will be the last regular-season tournament before the 2025 Conference USA Championship on April 21-24 in Texarkana, Ark.

The Miners finished in eighth place, and no. 150 Max Schliesing tied for 10th on the final day at the 35th annual Duck Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon at Eugene Country Club (par 71 | 6,997 yards) on March 24-25.
 
Schliesing (69-69-72) shot 3-under par 210 for his fifth top-10 finish this season and ninth overall in his career at UTEP.  The redshirt senior penciled in 10 birdies overall and an eagle in round two. Schliesing opened round three with a birdie at hole 5 but followed with a bogey at 6. He eventually birdied holes 9 and 13 to get back to 2-under par for the round and 6-under overall but had three bogeys on his final nine holes to shoot 1-over in the round. 
 
Dylan Teeter (72-71-71—214) moved six spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for 21st. The senior recorded a trio of birdies in round three, totaling 10 for the tournament.
