5/10/2025 9:25:00 AM

EL PASO—UTEP Men's Golf Head Coach Aaron Puetz announced that Valentin Luna is transferring to UTEP and will be eligible starting Fall 2025.

Luna, a native of Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France, comes from New Mexico and will have two years of eligibility starting in the fall.

"Valentin's experience is exactly the depth we were looking to add to our roster. We have seven returners who played in our lineup last season," Puetz said. "Valentin makes us more well-rounded, especially at the top of our lineup. We can't wait to get him to the 9-1-5. Go Miners!!!"

This past season, Luna played in two tournaments (six rounds) and penciled in a 74.2 stroke average. Luna saw action at the Papago Individual at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix on Sept. 16-17. He shot rounds of 79, 73 and 73. Luna also played at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate on Sept. 20-21, at UNM Championship Course. He finished tied for 26th and shot a season-low 68 in the first round.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Luna played in two tourneys and posted a 72.3 stroke average. Luna tied for 10th at the Maui Jim Individual at Desert Mountain – Outlaw Course in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Sept. 9-11. Luna (71-68-71) shot 6-under par 210 and played tied for 10th of 37 players. Luna (72-82-70—224) also played at the Lamkin Invitational at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif., on March 4-5.
