Round 1/2 Results
ABILENE, Texas - The UTEP women's golf team sits in fifth place after two rounds at the West Texas Classic, posting a 581 (288–293) heading into Tuesday's final round at the Abilene Country Club. The Miners are five strokes out of a top-three finish as they look to make a move up the leaderboard.
Freshman
Blanca Yrizar paced UTEP and is tied for fourth at 1-over par (67–74—141). Her opening-round 67 marked the lowest round of her career and positioned her among the tournament's top individual contenders.
Luciana Origel is tied for ninth at 2-over par (72–70—142). Her second-round 70 matched her career-low round and sparked a nine-spot climb up the standings.
Amelia Fridlund sits tied for 36th at 9-over par (77–72—149), while
Atikan Cherdchoo is tied for 40th at 11-over par (74–77—151).
Nichapas Thawinwan rounds out the lineup tied for 52nd at 13-over par (75–78—153).
The final round is set for a 7:15 a.m. MT / 8:15 a.m. CT shotgun start as the Miners aim to close strong in Abilene. Live scoring can be followed on
