Two Miners Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP women's basketball team had two student-athletes, Ivane Tensaie and Ndack Mbengue, named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, the organization announced Tuesday. The prestigious honor recognizes their academic and athletic achievements during the 2025-26 season.

Ivane Tensaie

The graduate guard majoring in Leadership Studies with a 3.57 GPA, was a consistent offensive presence for the Miners, starting all but one game while ranking second on the team with 10.8 points per game. She earned Preseason All-CUSA honors and was named CUSA Player of the Week. Tensaie also etched her name in the UTEP record books, setting the program record with eight three-pointers in a game and finishing her three-year career ranked third all-time with 197 made threes.

Ndack Mbengue

The senior forward majoring in Financial Analysis with a 3.75 GPA, was a dominant presence in the paint for the Miners, starting all 29 games she appeared in while leading the team with 8.1 rebounds per game to go along with 9.3 points per contest. She recorded nine double-doubles on the season and concluded her two-year UTEP career with 454 total rebounds, averaging 7.7 per game, which ranks sixth all-time in program history.
 

About CSC Academic All-District®
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 14 (men) and April 15 (women).
