DALLAS – UTEP women's golf freshman
Blanca Yrizar was named the Energy Transfer Conference USA Women's Co-Golfer of the Week alongside Missouri State's Chloe Bolte, the league announced Wednesday. The honor marks the first Conference USA Golfer of the Week recognition of her collegiate career.
Yrizar earned the accolade following a standout performance at the Ozarks National Invitational, where she helped lead UTEP to a third-place finish in a 14-team field. The Miners posted a 50-over-par 914 (312–300–302) across three rounds, securing their second top-three finish in the last three tournaments and their third consecutive top-five result.
Yrizar tied for third place at 6-over-par 222 (78–69–75), sharing the spot with Bolte. After opening with a 78, she surged with an impressive 3-under-par 69 in the second round before closing with a 75, marking one of the lowest rounds by a Miner during the tournament.
The performance secured her first career top-three finish and second consecutive top-10 showing, continuing a strong stretch of play.

The Miners head to the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, April 7–8, hosted by Wyoming at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz., before competing at the Conference USA Championship, April 20–22 in Frisco, Texas.
