Trio Of Miners Named To 2026 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Watch List

LAS VEGAS – Sophomore midfielder Zeta McDannels, junior defender Ashlee Mora and senior defender Ashlyn Neireiter will represent the Miners on the 2026 Mountain West Women's Soccer Watch List, the league office announced on Wednesday.
 
McDannels was one of three players to start all 17 matches in 2025, serving as a key cog for the offense on the way to being named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team. She ranked second on the squad in shots (31) and shots on goals (13), tied for third on the unit in goals (one) and shared fourth in points (three). McDannels buried a chance with a diving header to help UTEP forge a 1-1 tie at co-league champion WKU. She also set up a match winner in the Miners' 1-0 vanquishing at Boise State, which went on to claim its second straight Mountain West regular-season championship.
 
Mora, who will play for Mexico in the upcoming FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, was an important member of the Orange and Blue's backline. She helped UTEP produce five shutouts in 2025. The Miners had clean sheets in three of their first six contests. She started all 15 of her appearances, missing two tilts due to being recalled to training camp for the U20 Mexico team. Mora also got involved offensively by sharing second on the squad in assists (two).
 
Neireiter was one of three Miners to start all 17 matches, and she showed off her fantastic fitness again in 2025. She played in all but eight minutes (1,522 of 1,530) on the season. She logged 82 minutes at LA Tech but went the full 90 in every other game. A leader of the defense, she was instrumental in UTEP blanking five foes and holding five others to just one tally. Neireiter aided the Orange and Blue to set the tone early with three shutouts over the first six affairs. She also jumped into the offense by hammering home a header in the 69th minute in a 1-0 dispatching of Tarleton State.
