Daniel Foo announced the hiring of former Miner standout
Madison Hill as an assistant coach for the program.
Hill returns to the program after completing one of the most accomplished playing careers in UTEP beach volleyball history. A member of the program's inaugural team in 2023, Hill steadily climbed the lineup throughout her career, progressing from court five as a freshman to spending her final two seasons competing primarily on court one.
Hill leaves UTEP as the program's all-time leader with 47 individual victories.
As a sophomore in 2023, Hill posted a team-best seven individual wins while compiling a 7-16 record across courts four and five. She followed with a breakout junior campaign in 2024, recording a 14-11 mark while competing exclusively on court two.
During her senior season in 2025, Hill registered a 13-16 overall record while splitting time between courts one and two, including an impressive 11-6 mark on court two. She also helped secure one of the biggest moments in program history, clinching UTEP's first-ever postseason victory with a straight-set win on court one against Jacksonville State at the 2025 Conference USA Beach Volleyball Championship.
Hill concluded her collegiate career in 2026 with another 13-win season, finishing 13-15 overall while competing on courts one and two. She opened the season with a perfect 4-0 record on court two before moving up to court one for the remainder of the year.
Off the sand, Hill established herself as one of UTEP's most decorated student-athletes academically. She was a four-time Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection (2023-26), a four-time Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal recipient (2023-26), a four-time Conference USA All-Academic Team honoree (2023-26) and earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team recognition in 2026.
Hill was also a two-time recipient of the Thomas Howard Walk-On Student-Athlete Award (2023, 2025), received the Dr. Louis Robbins Award for Academic Excellence as the department's top senior GPA in 2025 and was named UTEP's Golden Pick Awards Team MVP in 2025.
