UTEP Athletics Registers Second Consecutive Record Fundraising Year

EL PASO, TEXAS — UTEP Athletics enjoyed a second consecutive record-setting fundraising year in 2025-26. Total donations exceeded $12 million once again, surpassing the previous best tally (FY25) by over $4,000.

The Miner Athletic Club, the fundraising arm of UTEP Athletics, spearheaded the effort. All-time records were established for number of gifts (9,917, a 45.9% increase) and number of donors (3,247, 20.7% increase). The number of major gifts ($25,000 or more) also climbed to a record 63, an increase of nine from FY25.

"We can't thank Miner Nation enough for answering the call during a critical time in our Athletics history," Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said. "We've launched the Mountain West era, and continue to increase our talent acquisition pool while bolstering our facilities. The MAC staff has worked hard to cultivate relationships with our donors and provide us with the necessary resources to enjoy competitive success, while providing a first-class experience for our student-athletes."

"These record-setting results reflect the incredible commitment of Miner Nation and the strength of our relationships with alumni, fans, business leaders and community partners," Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Revenue Officer Michael Levy said. "While we are grateful for the transformational gifts that helped drive another historic fundraising year, every contribution made an impact. Whether it was a monthly gift or a major investment, our supporters continue to demonstrate their belief in the vision for UTEP Athletics and the success of our student-athletes as we enter the Mountain West era."

Fueling the fundraising success were campaigns for Reach The Peak (Mountain West readiness and competitive success) and the Memorial Gym Renovation Project.

Major gifts were received from Paul Foster and Alejandra de la Vega Foster ($2.5 million), Bob McFadden ($1 million), Frank Sloan ($1 million) and Tropicana Homes ($500,000). The MAC processed 16 gifts of $100,000 or more in all.
