DENTON, Texas – The UTEP tennis team continued play at the Mean Green Invite Saturday. The Miners competed in both singles and doubles action on the day.
 
Elena Dibattista was tripped up by Ana Paula Jimenez (UTA), 6-3, 6-2. Veronika Lebisova was edged by Sarina Reinertsen (UTA), 6-4, 6-4. Lina Sachica went down to Liz Chileno (UTA), 6-2, 6-0.
 
Thassane Abrahim was clipped by Carla Pons (UTA), 6-0, 6-1. Eve Daniels was bounced by Nika Novikova (UTA), 6-2, 6-2. Laura Schmitz came up short against Ioana Dumitrescu (UTA), 6-2, 6-1. Kathleen Percegona fell to Momoka Horiguchi (UTA), 6-0, 6-1.
 
In doubles action Sachica and Kathleen Percegona were knocked off by Tara Gorinsek and Carla Pons (UTA), 8-3. Abraham and Lebisova suffered a narrow 8-6 setback to UTA's Horiguchi and Sarina Reinertsen. Eve Daniels and Dibattista were bested by Liz Chileno and Ana Paula Jimenez (UTA), 8-1.
 
The Miners will wrap up the competition on Sunday.
