UTEP Track & Field to Compete at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational March 25-27

THURSDAY START LIST | TEXAS RELAYS

EL PASO – The UTEP track and field team will compete at a pair of events on March 25-27. The Miners will take the track at the prestigious 93^rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin at Mike A. Meyers Stadium, and Texas State's Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos at the Texas State Track & Field.

Making the trip to Austin, are Karol Koncos (hammer), Sah-Jay Stevens (javelin), Roosa Yloenen (javelin), Chinique Brown (200m, 400m), Oghenekaro Brume (400m), Joshua Hill (400m), Sean Bailey (400m), Carshaylah Harrison (400m hurdles), Ned Azemia (400m hurdles), Ronaldo Griffiths (400m hurdles), Shakeem Smith (110m hurdles, 400m hurdles), Danae McFarlane (200m), Chevannie Hanson (200m), Dennis Johnson (100m, 200m), Jevaughn Powell (200m), Kenneth Talavera (1500m), Carolyne Chepkosgei (800m, 1500m), Karoline Daland (3000m steeplechase), Ruth Jerubet (5000m), Titus Cheruiyot (5000m), Maxwell Kipkosgei (10,000m), Rodgers Korir (10,000m), Aleks Hristov (discus), Maribel Caicedo (100m hurdles), Benjamin Coronado (shot put), and Paulo Benavides (pole vault).

Koncos will get the Miners started on Thursday, March 25 at 11:30 a.m. MT with the men's hammer throw at the Texas Relays. Stevens will follow with the women's javelin throw, which starts at 1:30 p.m. MT, and Yloenen will launch with the women's javelin event at 5 p.m. MT. The preliminary running events will shoot off at 3 p.m. MT, while the distance carnival will begin at 6 p.m. MT. On Friday, March 26, Hristov will compete in the men's discus at 1 p.m. MT, while the preliminary running events will begin at noon MT. On Saturday, Coronado will start with the shot put at 2:30 p.m. MT, while Benavides will compete at 3 p.m. MT in the pole vault elite men. The running events (finals) will start at 1 p.m. MT. The UTEP men's 4x400m relay team will conclude the weekend at 3:20 p.m. MT.

Heading to San Marcos, are Cierra Chenault (hammer, shot put), Samantha Cordier (hammer, discus, shot put), Kayla Larry (hammer, discus, shot put), Coronado (hammer, discus), Misael Ortiz (hammer, discus, shot put), Nia Reneau (long jump), Devin Mungro (long jump), Arturo Ciriza (pole vault), Madeline Jones (100m, 200m), Natalia Roberts (400m, 200m), Kevin Hewitt (400m), Michael Sims (1500m), Joan Kimaiyo (5000m), Boaz Ronoh (5000m), Emilio Rios (high jump), Ishmel Williams (high jump), Stevens (shot put), Andrea Lucero (800m), Jacquilyn Orozco (800m), Valerie Gonzalez (800m), Osaze Williams (800m), Yusuf Mohamud (800m), Aphiniti Crupper (200m) and Geraldy Barron (200m).

The Bobcat Invitational will begin with the field events on Thursday, March 25. The women's hammer throw will start at 8 a.m. MT, while the men's hammer will follow at 10:30 a.m. MT. On Friday, the field events will start at 8 a.m. MT with the women's discus, and the track events will start at 4 p.m. MT with the women's 100m. On Saturday, field events start at 9 a.m. MT with the men's high jump, while the track events will begin at 2 p.m. MT.
