Khaw Finishes in Top 10 to Pace UTEP Men’s Golf at Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational Tuesday

BOULDER, Colo. – Marcus Khaw played his best golf since becoming a Miner. The junior from Ontario, Canada, shot 10-under par, 206 (65, 67, 74) to finish tied for seventh at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Club (par 72, 7705) on Tuesday. 
 
Overall, UTEP finished in 12th place, shooting 7-under par, 857 (278, 280, 299). Boise State set a tournament record, 46-under par, 818 (269, 262, 287), to win the team title.
 
Khaw came out firing in the first round, setting a personal-best low round of 65 during the first 18 holes on Monday. He followed with a score of 67 in round two. Khaw tallied 18 birdies and shot 8-under on par 4 holes.
 
Jacob Presutti (214), Greg Holmes (218), Greg Yellin (222) and Remy Miller (226) rounded out the finishers for UTEP. Presutti eagled hole no. 17 (par 4) in the second round.
 
San Diego's Harrison Kingsley won the individual title, shooting 15-under par, 201 (67, 68, 66).

The Miners will compete at the Little Rock Invitational on Oct. 18-19 in Little Rock, Ark., hosted by Little Rock.
