UTEP Men’s Golf Concludes Fall Season with a Fifth-Place Showing at the Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational Tuesday Afternoon

ERIE, Colo. – UTEP men's golf moved up a spot to finish fifth overall of 19 schools after shooting 13-under par 275 during the final round of play at the 15th Annual Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational at Colorado National Golf Club (par 72 | 7,787 yards) on Tuesday.
 
The Miners (283-280-275) penciled in 26-under par 838 during the two-day tourney. UTEP finished ahead of sixth-place Loyola Marymount (281-281-277—839) by a stroke. Arkansas State (275-270-277—822) won the 2025 team title at 42-under par and one stroke ahead of host Colorado (268-280-275—823). Long Beach State (276-268-280—824), after being on top of the leaderboard after 36 holes, dropped two spots to third place. 
 
UTEP led the field with 182 pars. The Miners registered 50 birdies (10th most) and three eagles. UTEP ranked third on par 3 holes, averaging 3.07 (+4), and was fourth on par 5s at 4.7 average (-18). 
 
Marc Keller (70-66-70) had his best finish as a Miner, placing tied for seventh place. He shot a career-best 54-hole score of 10-under par 206. The junior transfer penciled in a phenomenal career-best round of 6-under par 66 to shoot up 16 spots in the leaderboard following his second-round effort. Keller totaled eight birdies, while adding a pair of eagles on holes 7 (par 5, 576 yards) and 12 (par 5, 564) in round two. Keller led the field with 42 pars and ranked tied for second with his two eagles.
 
Dylan Teeter (73-71-67—211) shot up 26 spots to tie for 27th overall after firing 5-under par in round three. Teeter birdied eight holes in the final round. Teeter tallied 13 total birdies during the event. 
 
Alexandre Godin (70-72-70—212) and Patrick Foley (72-72-68—212) tied for 35th. Godin birdied 10 holes and eagled one. Foley recorded nine birdies. 
 
Braden Smith (71-71-73—215) tied for 52nd overall. 
 
Arkansas State's Thomas Schmidt (64-63-67) won the individual title with a score of 22-under par 194. Long Beach State's Steen Zeman (67-65-70—202) and Alejandro De Castro (67-6868—203) and Colorado's Parker Paxton (66-69-68—203) rounded out the top three finishers.

LES FOWLER INDIVIDUAL INVITATIONAL RECAP
Colin Price (69-74-71—214) finished seventh overall out of 38 competitors. Ryan Lewis (70-76-70—216) tied for ninth, moving up six spots after shooting 2-under par 72 in round three. Kevin Watts (70-80-67—217), after a slow start, moved up 13 spots to tie for 11th after shooting 5-under par 67 in round three. Massimo De Giorgi (73-77—150) moved up nine spots to tie for 15th after a 68 in the third round. Valentin Luna (74-74-71—219) tied for 18th
