UTEP Men’s Golf Earns 2025-26 PLATFORM Team Academic Award

NORMAN, Okla. – More academic achievement came UTEP men's golf's way as it was a recipient of the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award announced by the GCAA on Wednesday.

A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. One hundred and fifty-five (155) schools received Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above in 2025-26. UTEP was one of 88 programs to earn the prestigious honor as the Miners posted a 3.51 team GPA.

Massimo De Giorgi (3.38 GPA), Patrick Foley (3.80), Alexandre Godin (3.92), Marc Keller (3.81), Ryan Lewis (2.92), Valentin Luna (3.60), Colin Price (3.47), Braden Smith (3.00), Dylan Teeter (3.18) and Kevin Watts (4.00) all contributed to UTEP's success in the classroom this past season.

Earlier in the week, Foley, Godin, Keller and Luna were named 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt All-America Scholars, announced by the GCAA on Aug. 3. Godin and Keller were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team on June 16.

On the course, the Miners played in 12 tournaments, including a third straight Conference USA Men's Golf Championship Final Match. UTEP penciled in 10 straight top-10 finishes to open the season (14 consecutive top-10 showings, dating back to the 2024-25 season). The Miners placed third of 12 teams at the Whirlwind Invitational at 39-under par 825, and were fourth at the Sam Ryder Intercollegiate (14-over par 878). UTEP took first place at the 2026 CUSA Championship, firing 31-under par 833 to earn the No. 1 seed in match play. The Miners defeated No. 4 Middle Tennessee, 4-1.
