EL PASO – UTEP men's golf head coach Aaron Puetz announced on Monday that Luke Harwick will transfer to UTEP from the University of Dubuque.

Harwick, a recent conference champion, completed his second collegiate season with the Spartans. The native of Guttenberg, Iowa, played in 12 events during the 2025-26 campaign. He penciled in a 70.8 scoring average over 27 rounds. He improved from his freshman season when he recorded a 73.8 scoring average. Harwick will have three years of eligibility with the new NCAA rule change.

"Luke has won at every level growing up. He is a high-level student-athlete," Puetz said. "Competing in multiple sports growing up, Luke will be a perfect fit on our team that we expect to contribute immediately. I'm also excited to sign someone from my home state of Iowa. We are excited to get him to El Paso in August and get to work."

Harwick concluded his sophomore season as an NCAA Division III PING/GCAA Honorable Mention All-American and an NCAA DIII PING/GCAA All-Region VI. Harwick, ranked No. 27 in Clippd, won the 2026 American Rivers Conference Men's Championship, shooting even par 213 (67-74-72). He tied the 18-hole and broke the 54-hole conference championship record. Harwick's efforts surged UD to an A-R-C Championship. Harwick advanced to the NCAA DIII Men's National Championship, where he was 12th of 225 players at 3-under par.

During the regular season, Harwick was 6-under, finishing first of 87 competitors at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate. He opened the campaign with a third-place showing (of 111) at the Culver's Edgewood University Fall Invitational. Harwick was second (of 87) at the Central Fall Classic. Harwick was named the A-R-C Men's Golfer of the Week on three occasions during the season (4/13/26, 4/20/26, 5/4/26).

During the 2024-25 season, Harwick was an NCAA Division III PING/GCAA All-Region VI selection. He was named the A-R-C Rookie of the Year and Men's Golf All-Conference. He was the A-R-C Male Athlete of the Week (4/14/25) and a two-time men's golfer of the week (4/14/25, 4/21/25).

Before competing at the collegiate level, Harwick won the individual Class 2A Iowa High School State Golf Championship in May 2024. He shot a 68 to lead Dyersville Beckman Catholic to its first-ever team state title.

In the classroom, Harwick earned recognition as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and was announced to the A-R-C All-Academic team.
