EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP softball team (11-19, 2-7 Conference USA) will take on Tarleton State (18-14, 4-5 WAC) for a midweek doubleheader at the Tarleton Softball Complex in Stephenville, TX., on Wednesday (Mar. 30) at 3/5:30p.m. MT. 
The matchup will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network, with live stats also available.

Aalijah Alarcon (6-10) leads the squad with 82.2 innings in 22 appearances and 16 starts, throwing six-complete-game victories and earning three saves.

• Lexi Morales paces the squad with a .341 batting average on 29 hits. She's slugged .506 with a .451 on-base percentage and 17 walks.
• Kaylin Jackson and Morales set the pace with three home runs each – Jackson leads with 19 RBI and Morales with 13.
• Morales leads with 43 total bases.
• The Miners are 15-for-17 in stolen bases. Savannah Favre is 6-for-6 and Autumn Scott is 2-for-2.

Tarleton State

• Tarleton State sits at 18-14 (4-5 WAC) on the season. The Texans are led by Georgia Capell with a .379 batting average on 36 hits. She is slugging .800 with a .449 on-base percentage.

 

• Tarleton State has utilized six pitchers through its 32 games, with Tristan Bridges pitching a team-high 90.2 innings with 17 appearances and 14 starts. Bridges has a 3.55 ERA with 63 strikeouts and 59 walks, 85 hits and 51 runs allowed (46 earned) and is 7-5. As a staff, Tarleton State carries a 4.06 ERA, allowing 218 hits, 141 runs (121 earned), striking out 154 and walking 126. Tarleton State has given up 13 home runs, 38 doubles and four triples.

 

• The Texans lead 2-0 in the all-time series against the Miners. Recently, UTEP came up short against Tarleton State on day two of the Lobo Classic earlier this season (Feb. 25), falling 6-5.
